#YEAH: Lil Jon Caps Off Impressive All Star Celebrity Apprentice Season In Third Place, Raises Funds for American Diabetes Association

LilJonCelebrityApprentice

Think you know Lil Jon? Think again.

Known from his early days for his bold, loud rap personality – laced with trademarked (literally) taglines, “Pimp Cups,” Grammy nominations and earth shattering tracks co-produced with fellow top artists across genres – the modern day Jon is a thoroughly evolved music and marketing machine.

Displaying the versatility of his brand and famous voice, Jon’s recent current club rattling collaborations with some of the top Electronic Dance Music (EDM) artists/DJ’s and worldwide party anthems have him at the top of his game in a new era of music.

Sure, the long-time Oakley artist/DJ is enjoying an extraordinarily broad reach across party people from all types of demographics – with a new album and all. And his high-profile DJ residencies at the Surrender and Blush Nightclubs at the Wynn/Encore Resorts in Las Vegas have him at the peak of prominence. But it’s the businessman, philanthropist and all-around solid guy that many in the general public haven’t been as familiar with.

Until now, that is.

Previously finishing fourth in his first try at Donald Trump’s infamously popular Celebrity Apprentice show, the matured entrepreneur was invited back to the boardroom for All Star Celebrity Apprentice this year.

And, as expected, he shined.

Winning one of the last episodes of the season for his selected charity, the American Diabetes Association, struck a deeply personal note with Jon – who’s had family members affected by the condition. And the public responded with a wave of appreciation and an altered view of the “King of Crunk.”

Partnering with LG USA during the episode, the electronics company helped celebrate Jon’s victory by donating sums of money to his charity for every share of the winning video (a commercial produced by Jon’s team) on YouTube. (See the LG app and video here: LG and Celebrity Apprentice! )

Displaying his business prowess and high-level work ethic, Jon maintained solid performances throughout the season. And although his recent try was just recently cut short with a third place finish (he was booted this past weekend), no one can deny that he gained massive amounts of respect from his fans: Both old and new.

Couple that with his voice still sampled by virtually every DJ on the planet – and featured on countless collaborative tracks rocked in clubs, stadium shows and massive electronic music festivals alike, there’s no doubt that Jon is clearly on top of his game. Even now.

OKKKAYYYYY.

Wrecking It: Skylar Grey Headlines Oakley’s SXSW Show with Actor Adrian Grenier’s Wreckroom

DSC_0137

South By Southwest is always a party.

And, just like every year, Oakley brought some of its uniquely cool magic to the sprawling scene in Austin (Texas).

Collaborating with O Entertainment family member and Entourage Star, Adrian Grenier (and his ‘Wreckroom’ music project), the brand put on a rockin’ show at the W Hotel.

Headlined by Grammy-nominated Oakley music artist, Skylar Grey, and featuring the likes of Grammy winner Sirah, Asher Roth and Indie music upstart Breakfast, the performance welcomed music industry influencers, celebrities and more for an intimate showcase away from the mud-packed streets.

If Skylar and Sirah didn’t break out enough ear candy for attendees, bands from Adrian’s Wreckroom family – like Caldwell, Joanna Erdos and The Skins – took the stage to warm up the star-lined crowd.

Add in Oakley family member, Nick Cannon, and yet another SXSW is in the books with a proper ‘O’ stamp on its face.

Angels & Garage Rockers: The Stars Shine at Oakley’s Sundance Film Festival ‘Learn to Ride’ 2013

Alessandra Ambrossio: Victoria’s Secret Angel.

Need we say more?

Oakley’s prominent presence at the ultra-famous Sundance Film Festival – a staple these past few years at the A-List superstar-lined super party – was as rockin’ as ever in its 2013 edition.

Sure, Entourage’s (HBO’s ultra popular series) Adrian Grenier may have commanded a lion’s share of the Hollywood media machine’s attention – as always. But the stunning images captured of Alessandra shredding on her snowboard – with flashes of natural athletic talent – turned heads of gals and guys alike.

Geared up from head to toe with stylin’ and superior Oakley women’s snow outerwear, eyewear and accessories, the Brazilian-born supermodel needed little assistance charging down the hill – much to the disappointment of O’s own Olympic snowboard medalist, Danny Kass.

Danny, along with long-time reality TV partner, The Dingo, joined the likes of pro surfer Erica Hosseini in manning the slopes as instructors for Tinsel Town’s hottest would-be rippers.

But, of course, not all stars in Oakley’s fabulously big entertainment family needed a crash course in finding their way in the powder.

O’s own world-famous rapper/DJ/producer/reality TV star (turned Dance Music artist) Lil Jon, a known shredder, added his signature flare and voice to the festivities. All while fellow O entertainer/actor/musician and X Games’s iconic commentator, Sal Masekela, injected his signature commentary and smooth moves on the slopes.

The strong music industry presence gracing the scene was topped off by O family member and Grammy-nominee, Skylar Grey, whose insanely impressive talent for song writing has been mesmerizing the music world.

Returning to Sundance for the second straight year (without the performance obligations from last year), Skylar hung out and celebrated some recent and upcoming track releases. Sufficed to say, all in attendance appreciated her fondness for the O – while remembering her recent contributions: which include hauntingly brilliant songs written (including “Love the Way You Lie” [performed by Rihanna]) and performed by her (such as “Room For Happiness” with Kaskade, “I Need a Doctor” with Dr. Dre and Eminem, “Invisible” made famous by Kaskade and “I’m Coming Home.”)

Indeed, prominent names from all corners of the industry were on hand to display their love for Oakley.

Throw in some random, well-known names in show biz, like the beloved Fred Savage, Tim Daly, Xavier Samuel, music group One Republic, Jesse Williams, Mekhi Phifer, Shiloh Fernandez, model Ludi Delfino, Steven McQueen (grandson of the legendary Steve McQueen) and more, and it was one well-rounded gathering of talent.

Oh but there were more surprises.

As a first-timer with the brand, Academy Award winner, Octavia Spencer, and her co-star Ahna O’Reilly from blockbuster film, “The Help,” graced the group with her humble presence.

Opting not to try her luck on a board, the phenomenal actress instead joined some of the Oakley family in celebrating Lil Jon’s birthday with…wait for it…shots.

All in all, 2013’s Learn to Ride at Sundance was one buzz-filled gathering – showcasing Oakley’s latest lifestyle and snow eyewear, apparel, overall fashion and family environment with some of the most famous names in the biz.

But don’t take our word for it, peep the official recap vid on Grind TV/Yahoo! Sports above.
