Everyone knows that Oakley brings the party…wherever it goes.
South By Southwest (SXSW), one of the country’s most prominent film, interactive and music festivals, went off once again in Texas last week. And the Big O, as usual, brought its star power and vibrant family or artists to the scene to rock Austin the only way it knows how…with sick style.
By day, festival-goers dropped into Oakley’s popular Banana Beat Artists Lounge, taking in the sights of stars, steezy Oakley gear/eyewear and a mouthful of Banana Beat Records, the brainchild label of Oakley music star producer/artist, Cisco Adler.
With appearances from Allen Stone, Bosco Delrey, Charlie Simpson, Dillion Frances, DJ Gina Turner, DWNTWN, Graffiti6, Lights, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Mouse House, Neon Indian, Nick Waterhouse, Ninjasonik, Outasight, Papa, Polarsets, Shiny Toy Guns, Waters, We Are the In Crowd, Young Empires and ZTrip – it was one vibrant display of O’s entertainment family across several unique niches and genres.
And of course, it wouldn’t be an Oakley party without blaring music getting the place jumping.
With Cisco Adler headlining, Charlie Simpson, Mod Son, Caitlin Moe & Mia Moretti, Terraplane Sun, Will Crum, G Eazy, Pat Brown and the Bad Rabbits threw down sets for the SXSW crowd.
All in all, the gathering was yet another rockin’ sample of Oakley’s Alternative and Music Cultures deep in the heart of Texas. And with Anthem Magazine, Blackbook Magazine, Billboard Magazine, Guitar World Magazine, Hollywide.com, Nylon Magazine, the San Francisco Examiner, Vibe Magazine and Young Hollywood in the house to capture the stoke and the action, plenty of buzz surrounded Oakley’s Banana Beat Artist Lounge all weekend long.

It’s been a minute since I’ve seen anything from Johnny Polygon, so he sends me this clip from his upcoming project Pussy Gun. Death. Anyways, you can head to his Facebook page to pick up the audio for free.
“Yyyyyeaahhhh!!!”
You know the line. It’s from none other than Oakley superstar music artist/producer, Lil Jon. Just one member of Oakley’s power-packed entertainment and sports family.
There’s no better display of The Big O’s uniquely glamorous network of celebrities, global music superstars, Hollywood A-Listers and world-class athletes – sharing the Oakley love – than at the ultra-famous Sundance Film Festival every year.
Dropping in for Oakley’s famous “Learn to Ride” event at this year’s Festival, scores of celebrities collided with Oakley Snowboard Stars Danny Kass (Olympic Medalist) and “The Dingo” – as well as Oakley Team Surfer Erica Hosseini and Skate Team Rider Lauren Perkins – to shred some powder.
First visiting Oakley’s Sundance “Headquarters” throughout the week (Danny Masterson’s “Downstairs” venue) to pick out Oakley Snowboarding gear, mingle with Tinsel Town’s hottest and chat with select media personalities, the stars got down with the full Oakley Sports and Entertainment experience.
“Using our longtime heritage in sport – and the ability to have athletes as teachers and celebrities as students, Oakley Learn to Ride continues to be the hottest ticket outside the theatre at Sundance.” said Jeremy McCassy, Oakley’s Alternative/Entertainment Marketing Manager.
With Aaron Paul, Andie MacDowell, Anne Heche, Anthony Mackie, Chris Masterson, Cisco Adler, Courtney Mazza, Danny Masterson, Eric Christian Olsen, Jamie Chung, Justin Long, Laura Prepon, Lil Jon, Mario Lopez, Michael Kenneth Williams, Ryan Kwanten, Sal Masakela and more in the house, it was an intimately impressive gathering of famed Oakley lovers each day of the week.
With a full fitting, which included Oakley outerwear, goggles, beanies, gloves, hats and DC snowboard – it all was topped off with mounted Go Pro cameras that delivered personalized footage of boarders charging the mountain.
And there was plenty of sick riding.
From first-timers to experienced snowboard/ski veterans, every level was represented. But more importantly, the stoke was definitely in the air for all.
After all the action began wind down, the O family and lucky fans returned to the venue at night to rage at “Oakley at Hyde Sundance” show – where Oakley artists Kate Voegele, Cisco Adler, Lil Jon and special guest Skylar Grey lit the evening on fire with magical performances. (Full story on the show to come later.)
